Hell, even LG's phones are made to MIL-STD 810 standards (shock, water, vibration, altitude, drop, etc) to ensure a baseline level of physical protection.At some point I had noticed that artisan brands that actually did have some sort of origin specificity did it to stand out, then of course every generic or industrial brand started doing it as a marker of artisan quality.
