I remember a story that I think was posted here where a guy was working retail on his last day and a lady came in bitching about something inane. His reply stuck with me: “Ma’am, you have to understand that I’m not emotionally invested in this situation.”I’ve said it my entire life and had no idea it had negative connotations until I read it on the net. I never once meant it that way, but after my enlightenment I confess that I’ve sometimes used it to be a sarcastic twit.
